London Rooftop Hotspots
In the peak of the British summer time, being inside a hot sticky club isn’t the most appealing idea of an evening out; but a rooftop bar in London sounds like the perfect spot to be. Lucky for us Londoners, we have plenty of options of where to go. Here are some top places to see the sun go down after you have spent all day in your designer swim shorts, with a delightful, cold beverage, all in the heart of one of the best cities in the world.
First up we have Madison Rooftop, overlooking the beautiful St Paul’s Cathedral. From our own personal experience, we can recommend Madison as a great spot for you and your friends after work. There’s a buzzy metropolitan atmosphere with beautiful view. During the week, you get a lot of the city workers all looking to wind down, and on a weekend, it’s a great spot to book a table for a special occasion. Madison has been described as a Manhattan style restaurant that’s open from Midday till late. Catch up with friends, enjoy great food and drink the night away whilst listening to live music.
Our next rooftop venue; Sushi Samba is a dress to impress kind of place. A stone’s throw away from Liverpool street station, Sushi Samba has a fantastic cocktail selection with a great fusion food menu, offering Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. The roof terrace is on the 38th floor where you gain access to through a glass lift at the side of the building. With stunning views of the famous Shard and the Gherkin and London’s skyline, you can’t go wrong. We recommend you try their signature cocktail; Nina Fresa that will get your taste buds jumping for joy!
If you’re looking for something a little less populated and a little more secluded, then Aqua Spirit located on Oxford Street is for you. Offering a wide range of cocktails inspired by famous Japanese flavours as well as some twists of everyone’s favourite classics. You can sit back in a relaxed atmosphere and watch the sun go down whilst the hustle and bustle of shoppers settle below. Aqua Spirit is a prime location for locals and tourists without feeling overcrowded with it’s breath-taking skyline.
Queen of Hoxton
If you’re looking for a slightly more relaxed and funky rooftop bar then Queen of Hoxton is for you. This fun and quirky bar offers views of Canary Wharf and is jammed pack with cool viewings and furniture. Located in trendy Shoreditch; visitors are required to climb the stairs to get to the top so you will certainly need a drink! It’s ideal for a chilled summer’s day in the sunshine or for a drink with your friends after work. It’s growing as a popular hotspot, with fairy themed cocktails and tasty food such as glazed ribs and burgers for all. This cool bar is inspired by Peter with the Lost boys hideout bar and a pirate ship to explore.
Lastly, one of the best-known venues is the Radio Rooftop bar with its breath-taking views across the river, seeing famous sites such as Big Ben and the London Eye. It offers a tapas menu due to its Spanish roots or can just drop by for a drink in the enclosed bar. It’s a chilled location by day and a party venue by night, perfect pre-clubbing spot for you and a group of pals. However, it can be up to a two hour wait on a busy night as it operates by guest list and queuing system. Offering seasonal cocktails and great atmosphere it’s a great exclusive location.
Whilst summer is on our side in London, be sure to check out one of these venues before the cold breeze returns to Britain!
