Winter Wonderland is well known for its ice skating rink, as it is the largest open air ice rink in the UK. Ice skating is ideal for all ages, it’s great family bonding as well as being a romantic setting for a date with someone special, or even just a spin around with your friends. It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional skater or a beginner as everyone is welcome to skate, you can even book an ice guide if you need of a bit of extra help. New this year specially to celebrate the 10 years’ anniversary, they are showing The Nutcracker on Ice and The Magical Kingdom Artic adventure. So make your way down to Hyde Park this Christmas to have a fun, magical adventure and make memories you will never forget.

Ice Skating is a massive tradition during the winter season; London offers a variety of different Ice Rinks during the Christmas period. Canary Wharf’s Ice rink has become well known for its romantic atmosphere and prestige location. Skating is a great activity to get you in the mood for Christmas and help you embrace the cold weather conditions. An iced path allows skaters to dash off from the main rink and glide below fairy lit trees. The bar will be serving drinks and seasonal snacks for the visitors who don’t fancy skating and they can admire those skating from the heated outdoor viewing terrace. Come down for a spin around and take in the breath-taking views.

If you’re a Christmas carol lover there are plenty of carol concerts in and around London this year. Eltham Palace offers a festive music performance in the great hall on 7th December, offering refreshments for you to enjoy whilst swaying along to the traditional Christmas carols. If you’re looking for something a little more modern, you have the option of the alternative Christmas carol concert. This takes place in Granary square on 13th December at 6.30, offering a glass of mulled wine and playing renditions of Mariah Careys festive classic and more festive hits.

Another alternative night this Christmas is a crafting at the Late-Night Larder. If you’re a creative person head down to the Late-Night Larder in Wanstead where you scoff mince pies and drink mulled wine whilst making your very own Christmas baubles for your tree. This event takes place on the 7th December from 7 – 10pm. This is defiantly a unique event, a great present for a creative hand on person or someone who is more inclined to enjoy a mince pie indoors rather than a night out in the cold outdoors.
